6 February 2024: 20th OCOVA Forum

On 6 February 2024, the OCOVA forum celebrated its 20th anniversary! Since 2004, the forum has been a key meeting place for those involved in innovation in advanced digital and communication technologies for regional development. The 2024 forum has focused on technological advances and innovation projects for the ecological transition and the emergence of tomorrow’s mountain models.

On 6 February 2024, on-site at Les Orres or online via Zoom or Youtuve, you were more than 200 actors of the mountain of tomorrow to take part in the 20th OCOVA forum. Forum 2024 explored three major themes in the ecological transition of resorts and valleys, with summaries, case studies and debates on solutions for optimising the responsible management of mountain areas:

  • Energy performance: renewable energy production, integration, control, sharing – energy optimisation of tourist accommodation.
  • Drones, a session organised in partnership with the Centre d’Excellence Drones Montagne – deployment of drone operations and their uses in resorts and valleys: technical inspection of infrastructure; search and rescue; optimising snow production; territorial data and exploitation; optimising operations; capturing events and tourism uses.
  • Enhancing and exchanging local data for the ecological transition – local water management, projects involving data platforms and their exchange in the Alpine macro-region.

For 20 years, the forum has played a major role in disseminating digital culture among all categories of actors of smart development for the mountains of tomorrow. OCOVA is primarily aimed at local decision-makers and community players involved in the ecological transition and climate resilience. OCOVA is a forum for the exchange of ideas and the emergence of grassroots projects through collaboration and partnership. Participants will be able to take part on site and remotely via the Zoom platform, with webcasts on OCOVA’s Youtube channel.

You can also acess the presentations via links inserted in the Programme page.  You can also play or replay the whole session on the OCOVA  Youtube channel (but without English/French translation).
